Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies FolioCenter uses, what they do, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies — such as local storage and session storage in your browser — to make the service work and remember your choices. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.
Cookies can be “session” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” (kept until they expire or you delete them), and either “first-party” (set by FolioCenter) or “third-party” (set by a service we use).
02Why we use them
We keep cookies to a minimum and use them only to:
- sign you in and keep your session secure;
- remember essential preferences, such as your light/dark theme;
- record your cookie choices so we don’t ask again on every visit;
- where you allow it, understand which features are used so we can improve them.
We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
03Categories we use
| Category | What it does | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in, session security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie choices. The service cannot work without these. | No — always on |
| Preferences | Remember non-essential choices such as your theme and language. | No — set only when you make the choice |
| Analytics | Where used, help us understand feature usage so we can improve the product. Aggregated, not used to identify you. | Yes — only with your consent |
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
04The cookies in detail
The table below lists the cookies we typically set. Exact names and lifetimes can change as we improve the service.
| Cookie / key | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
fc_session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in and secures your session in the application. | Session |
fc_csrf | Strictly necessary | Protects forms and requests against cross-site request forgery. | Session |
fc_cookie_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie preferences so we don’t ask on every visit. | 6 months |
fc_theme | Preferences | Remembers your light/dark theme choice. | 1 year |
fc_analytics_* | Analytics | Measures feature usage (only set if you consent to analytics). | Up to 1 year |
wordpress_*, wp-settings-*) for logged-in administrators — these are not set for ordinary visitors.05Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by service providers acting on our behalf:
- Payment processor — during checkout, our payment provider may set cookies needed to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.
- Analytics — where enabled with your consent, an analytics provider may set cookies to measure usage.
These providers process data under their own privacy and cookie policies. We list the categories of providers we use in our Privacy Policy.
06Your choices & consent
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the service can’t function without them; everything else is set only with your consent.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time — reopen the cookie settings from the banner or the link in our footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect cookies already used while consent was in place.
07Managing cookies in your browser
You can also control cookies through your browser — block or delete them, or get warned before they’re set. Most browsers explain how in their help pages:
Please note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of FolioCenter — such as signing in — from working.
08Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no agreed industry standard for how sites should respond, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals. Because we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, your privacy is protected by our consent controls regardless.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies evolves. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again through the cookie banner.
